btw, if you want to have fun in Vegas or Atlantic City, play like you know what you're doing for a while, then suddenly make a really boneheaded move.. double down on a 14 or something. If you're winning, consider it $20 for 15 seconds of entertainment. You'll piss everyone else off at the table, and you get to watch your dealer yell to the pit boss to watch you. And, if you win.... lol, they'll be watching you the rest of the night.

That 49% only factors in if you're trying to oust the dealer's hand. This is often a mistake. You should be trying to let the dealer bust....which becomes a lot harder if you keep stealing the 10 value cards out of the deck.

Sorry, I meant to say double down on a hard 12. Anyone who knows anything about the game of blackjack would take a card on a 12 vs. dealer 7. You have to assume the dealer has a face card underneath, and we all know a 12 doesn't beat a 17.

Yes you would take a card. That is called a hit. Your OP was about doubling down on a hard 12. When you double down you don't get another card. Doubling a 12 can bust you at 2x the price. I really hope you knew this. It is not a good play. But then again some idiots (not saying you) on this forum believe that it is ok to play anyway they want and lose their money. I agree, I think it is ok that they lose their money. In fact they should send their money to someone who really needs it and let the dealer kick them in the ass and call it even.
