hey, i'm a musician and i've been wanting to set up a webcam in the studio so people can see us record on our website. i don't care about frame rate really, i'd just like it to update about every 15-20 seconds. i've searched to find out how to do this and i'm really not sure where to start. does anyone know what i should be looking for as far as software and stuff? honostly i don't even know what i'm wanting is called.

Although it may not be what you have in mind, you can use Yahoo! Messenger to set up a webcam and let anyone view it.
As for running it off your website, you may need to run your own server and run a third party software as well. Do a google search on 'stream web camera from a website' and you can find some software.

I used software called YawCAM once with my webcam. I think it can take periodic pictures and upload them to an FTP server. You can also host the live stream on your computer and access it via your IP address and port number.
