How to watch .mpg files on DVD player that doesn't play them?

Yes, the title sounds retared but let me elaboare.... I have a SONY dvd player that will not recognize .mpg files on a cdr/dvd-r (it does recognize mp3 files though). I have mpg videos on my computer that I'd like to watch on my dvd player. Is there a program that can import mpeg's and let me burn them onto DVD-+R to watch on on dvd player? I tried Nero Express but after hours of encoding it won't let me burn to dvd-r, only to cdr's...

thanks in advance.

VCD or SVCD mode only works with CD mode not DVD mode, and my intention is to burn to a DVD so i can fit a lot more on 1 cd.

well it does depend on what your dvd player supports, it may not support playing of Mpeg-1 format

Well lets say my dvd player doesn't support mpeg formats... my question is, what software can I use to import mpeg and then watch on the dvd player through the program. You know how you can take pictures and videos and import them to create a slideshow and watch on dvd players, well I'd like to do that with videos.

You're going to have to use TMPGEnd to convert the .mpg to DVD format and then burn it

Can i convert about 60 videos to dvd and watch them as tracks, or is each small video gonna have to go on 1 dvd?

you should be able to use multiple files when burning the final form which would then make every single one its own track so be careful about the order you put them in if it is important to you
by the waym DVD format is Mpeg-2, it is comprised of seperate folders your burning software should make, the videos themselves are Mpeg-2 format

Ok pardon the ignorance but i'm not really understanding what exactly i'm supposed to do...

I donwload TMPGEnc and am currently converting an .mpg file to a dvd layer 2 file, its gonna take about 10 min for the conversion. So do i have to do this for each and every file (40-50 of them)?
