Do you mean you bought Dynamat from Crutchfield.com? Well if so, where did you put the dynamat? I dont' think dynamat will help if you have Blow Holes housing 2 120s.

you put it everywhere. take everything out of you case and put it all over. make sure you get it around the fans, behind the motherboard, and around your cdrom and hdd. put it on the case and not on the mountings inside the case.

You don't sound too excited about it.

I thought someone would say something like "You should light the fuse and stand back".

dynamat is the improper stuff to use if your trying to reduce noise, its for reducing vibration not noise,, obsorbing sound is not what it was designed for. What you need is something that will catch the noise, soft and thick like, like eggcrate foam is one good example of a good sound obsorber.

Note: Dynamat will slighty reduce sound if added, only cause of its properties are softer when ya compare what you were working with before which was sheet metal sound bouces around like crazy. But when using the proper acustic material, expect results much further then a thin sheet of dynamat.

lol.. Dynamat not Dynamite!!!

I don't think you want to use dynamite on your computer at all, especially indoor... w/ one exception will be to use it on a MAC Classic... if you do.. please film it and I will BUY the video tape off you!

atomic: I actually have seen that, somebody did blow up a type of Mac and put the video on the internet, It's a shame I can't remember where. The explosion wasn't spectacular anyway -- it awas more of a fire.

Dynamat is OVERPRICED. There are a lot of other materials that do the exact same job for a quarter of the price. Check out McMaster.com for similar material. At the home page search for acoustical damping sheets. At the bottom of the page check out the viscoelastic stuff which is supposed to be similar to Dynamat super. You can get 9 square feet for $22.50.
