im running 2000 pro on my comp, and apperently thats not upgradeable to xp. I know theres gotta be a way. if not, how do i fdisk/format my drive so i can do a clean install(i also own win98 se for the upgrade/install)

just pop in the XP CD and it'll ask you if you want to upgrade... do this from within windows, not booting from the XP cd.

If you are using an XP Home CD, that explains why you do not see the option to upgrade. Windows 2000 Professional will only upgrade to XP Professional.

yup, I've done a lil research, and you cant upgrade from 2000pro to xp home(xp pro maby, but not home) so after about an hour of reading news groups and searching for my answer, it looks like i have to fdisk/format my current drive so i can do a clean install from a 95,98,or me OS.

but I cant seem to remember how to make a boot disk so that i could fdisk/format my 2000 pro hard drive.

anyone?

just boot from your xp cd and when you start the setup, you'll be asked if you want or not to format the disc.

Follow the instructions on the screen.. it's very simple.
