how to unlock a sprinkler timers box

I moved in to the house where a sprinkler timer box was attached to the wall locked. The watering system is not activated and I am watering manually now. How to unlock the box and set the timer?

Rental house? Call the landlord. If you bought the house, you can either break the lock, cut it (if it's a padlock), or call a company that does sprinklers, and ask them if they can unlock it for you. They might even do it for free, if they think that you'll throw them some business.

If the box has a brand name on it, you might even contact the company (Google for info), or local irrigation sprinkler parts suppliers, and ask them if they can give you a method of opening the timer box.

it's possible the sprinkler system is broken and the previous owner (or current owner if renting) put that on there to prevent flooding.

You take your silly "logic" and "common sense" and get the hell out of here! :| Just who do you think you are, buster...

That's a little overkill. I'm sure that a brick of C4 will be quote enough.

If the timer box is similar to the plastic ones that I've seen, you shouldn't have to unlock it. The "hinges" to the door are simply metal dowels friction fit into plastic hinges. Press them out. If you can't get it open in about 10 minutes, you'll then be frustrated to pry it open with a screwdriver... or hammer.
