How to uninstall linux?

Rifter

I just installed mandrake 7.1, now i want to install 7.2, how do i get rid of mandrake 7.1???? i want to totaly reformat the drive but i am scared if i do it will screw up my current win98 install, here is how my drives are set up now.

20GB primary master:

3GB win98 install partition C:
17GB win98 apps partition D:

30GB Drive Secondary master

15GB storage partition (Used to be E: till i installed linux, now linux can see it but win98 cant, this really makes me mad thats why i want to just fdisk the drive and start over)
10GB Linux partition
4GB Linux apps
1GB Linux swap

Question is if i fool around with my second 30GB drive will it screw up the bootloader? thanks for your help!!!!!

what, no linux guru's around tongiht???????? come on guys i would like to get this taken care of tonight 🙂

Yeah, you can just format your 2nd drive and start over... Chances are when you install Mandrake 7.1 it has already mess with your MBR and you won't be able to boot into win98 after you format your second drive... but if you are going to install 7.2 immediately, then that doesn't really matter cuz the installation of 7.2 will overwrite the MBR again anyways...

You don't have to uninstall Mndrk7.1 for installing newer. When You install 7.2 over 7.1, it formats linux partitons, so there won't be anything left from old install...

Boot into DOS and give "fdisk /mbr".This will clear the MBR and you'll get rid of lilo. Then just delete the Linux partitions. But as the previous person said this can be done during the 7.2 installation too.

well im burning 7.2 right now, will be done in 10 min, then ill burn the extention cd which will take 13min, so i have 30 min to decide, i really want to wipe the drive so that i can make a 15GB storage partition that win98 can see, i dont know why it stopped seeing my current one, so if i do fdisk /mbr this will clear out the bootloader? the i can just re-fdisk the second drive????? have any of you tried this?>???? thanks!!!!

[edit] the main reason i want to fdisk the WHOLE drive not just the linux partitions is so i can make win98 see the 15GB storage partition again[/edit]
