How to two networks in Windows 2000?

Hello All,
I have two network cards in my Windows 2000 computer. One is connected to my router and second computer HTPC under the TV. Second network card is connected to neighbours PC without any other connection.
How to manage that neighbour will see my HTPC computer and my LAN as he would be connected to my router?

If your router has another open port, you could plug your neighbors in the empty port. Or you could try setting up your W2K as a router itself.

Bottom line, you need to route traffic between PCs in your config.

I know, but what software to use for this? Cannot connect the cable to my router, can use only some router or so on Windows 2000. But dont know which :-/

Welcome to the Network Forum.

Why you can not connect a cable to your Router?

If you are insisting in using the second NIC as a Router your can try ICS, some time it works.

If you really want* to solve the problem get a $10 Wired Router and connect it your current Router.

:sun:

* P.S. This is not directed toward you but lately we have posts of people that are looking to weird solution just because they can not let go of a piece of Plastic and silicone that happened to be called an NIC, and in our days has a value of $0 after rebate.

Hello, thank You for welcome.
Reason is simple, we have 10Mbit coaxial cable between those houses. Very long one. Any hardware able to translate it takes too much power or is strange to use. Another reason is, that my router is somehow locked and i can use only those PCs which i pay for. I payed for two pcs. I heard that Windows XP can bridge the network easily, but i would prefer to use some simple and free way to do it without buying another operating system.
