Hi there, I have been thinking about picking up a used 9700 off of ebay or the for sale forums. I was wondering if someone could recommend some ways to thourhgly test that a card is what it says it is, and also to make sure that is running properly and not at all broken or disabled, or underclocked etc.

thanks!

run it through its paces in a strenuous environment - 3dmark03 shoudl do well, as will various 3d games (try ut2k3 with lots of bots), or just have high AA and AF settings on. check the serial code on the back of the card, make sure it says "9700 pro" on the label, and look up the brand and its stock clock speeds, and check with Powerstrip, or the Rage3d overclocker.

Ok thanks, I will do all these things.

When I can GET one.

Some hoser on ebay just canceled his NO RESERVE auction 1 SECOND before it ended, because it was too low i'm sure:p

I hate ebay sometimes.
