Hi all..just a quick question. How do I know that windows is seeing both cores of my e2160. in the control panel i have 2 processors and multiprocessor under computer. however cpuz says only one core. also i did a fresh install of windowsxp professional. does anyone know a way that I can make my shortcuts come up and work or do i need to install all the programs again. thanks in advance...

cpu e2169
mb gigabyte ga-945gcm
2gig ram

Device Manager should see two, and Task Manager should show two CPU load graphs (after you check "One Graph per CPU" in its menu).

I will install patches, task manager shows two graphs so i think iam good, i just dont understand why cpu-z doesnt show both cores, it says there are two of them...

justageek thanks i will install those

Sometimes, if you do a Repair Install, you might have to uninstall the CPU driver in the Device Manager, reboot, and let Windows find the new processor.

Otherwise, you should be good to go.

And the patches have helped me when I was running XP.
