What's the readily visible difference between T-bred A and B? Is there any way to tell from looking at the box? What model number should A be, and what should B be?

If it is 2400+ or above, it must be "B". Otherwise, you have no way to tell the difference by looking at the package only.

Can you see the label on the CPU from outside the box? Because the box is see-through, right?

How do you tell a B from A from looking at the CPU itself?

From what I have read, you can't. There is an extra layer added to cpu (total of 9 now), but you can not tell from the naked eye. If you want to be sure now, then buy 2400+ or higher.

you can tell from the stepping codes. for example, AIUGA would be a rev A, AIUGB would be a rev B.

he is referring to the line that would appear below the line you posted

also An old TBred has a CPUID of 680, while a TBred2 has a CPUID of 681.
however you cant tell this until you put it in and boot up lol
