I'm trying to setup a push-pull configuration with my heatsink and I am wondering how to tell which way the fan is blowing. Thanks

So it's possible for me to look at a fan that's rotating at a rate of two thousand revolutions per minute (33.3 revolutions per SECOND) and determine that?

Fans don't start or end at that speed. I assuming you're in the same room and in control of the computer at the time. Not to mention, having a modicum of intelligence.

I've always used this rule. The side that has the plastic connected from the frame to the motor in the center is the side that air blows out of.

Yeah this is nearly an epic fail thread.... Seriously? Taking the time to write a post of it on here takes 5x longer than just googling it, and saves a LOT of embarassment.

Turn it on unmounted and see which end blows at your hand.

Look for arrows on the casing

It will always blow towards the structural plastic side

OR.... Common sense?

Test the fan on the case chassis. Generally the intake side is cooler than the exhaust side (kinda d'uh but often not obvious to many). I can do this with my 800rpm fans so you should have even less trouble with your 2000rpm fans.

The fan blades are curved, convex (outward curved) on one side, concave (inward curved) on the other. Air will flow from the convex side to the concave side.

B4 this gets out of hand i am locking it..

Incase you want to know direction, look for the frame, if it has a plastic bar going across it, that side is the side it blows out.

This thread is now LOCKED b4 a bonfire which the water in my computer cant put out starts.
