How to sync file information between Itunes and Explorer?

I'm an organizational freak about my music library, and i've gone through great lengths to make sure i have all my album artwork, the correct albums, lyrics, etc for my mp3's in my Itunes library.

Of course, when i "right-click", show song in explorer, I get a buttload of blank/wrong information about my songs only because the file information in my itunes library was saved in the .xml file, nowhere else. Is there any way I can just sync the information between Itunes and the information of the actual mp3 file itself or am I screwed and doing it 1 by 1?

Okay, so it may sound confusing. So how about if I word it like this. If I switched from using Itunes to using Windows Media Player for my new Zune, how would I be able to keep all the file information from itunes back on to windows media player because as of now, it's really messed up.

Thanks,
ShadoWing

Do you have the option checked to have itunes keep your music organized for you? Furthermore, why do you care quite so much about the file itself? There seem to me to be 2 kinds of MP3 players for computers, library based (iTunes, MP10 and 11, foobar... etc) and file based (winamp, realplayer... etc) however, you seem to be straddling both categories.

However, answer the first question about that check box, if you do have it checked then it is back to the drawing board to figure this out.

yep already have that, but i want to have the file-based information in sync with my library-based just in case i ever switch out from itunes if i get a different mp3 player. Just want to keep my options open so i don't have to do all that work again

I though itunes was filed based? At least I can remember directly editing the id3 tags a few years back.

Also, with a zune, I found the zune software to be much easier. WMP completely wacked out and messed up a bunch of id3 tags and things like that.

Honestly, I really just use tag and rename to organize, and let the zune software inherit the changes.
