True, but don't become a clique. You should always be open to new people.

Both of these are true. Four of my best friends from high school are still my closest friends (three are now married, one's still in college as am I) and have remained so throughout college and into our adult lives.

One thing that helps a lot in high school is to have a keen awareness of what other people really are, and a clear third person's view of yourself.

But most people can't do this even if asked to do so.

Take as many AP courses as you can, if you don't get AP credit it atleast makes first year college hella easier. Get quality friends over quanity that was my big mistake.

if you want to be popular, the best way to climb the social ladder is by taking other people down.

if you're not smart enough, either blend in and try to get HS over with as fast as possible, or find your own small social group.

but don't take high school too seriously

One piece of advice: Get in the game!! High school is a meritocracy. You won't be popular or have fun by waiting for it to happen. Your mommy and daddy are no longer your social director and your friends will no longer be whoever lives on your street. You make your own success in high school and you're responsible for your own failures. Be smart, be funny, be athletic, be stylish, be rich, be SOMETHING! You won't get anywhere by sitting in a corner hoping to get invited to the cool kids table.

Don't worry about high schoool in the end you'll see 99% of them attending to the local state college or attending to community college. In the end everyone will split apart and have their own little group.
