How to stop Google Toolbar from auto update?

I think Google took the disabling option off the setting page. My toolbar went from version 5.0 to 6.0 without my consent. Mmm...

Is there a way to stop it from auto update? I use google toolbar for the translation and the online storage of bookmarks. I would love to get rid of it if there is a browser can do both natively.

IE7 here, btw.
 
Can you get your firewall to block the update? I know that the toolbar update option in version 3 could be disabled by following a process which is mentioned here, not sure if it'll work with version 5 though.
