My buds used AIM on my computer and now all their Screen Names are saved. How do I delete them and stop them from being on it again?

Thanks in advance.

Try going into the registry and searching for their screen names, and delete the values. Hope this helps.

Not sure about removing the SNs, but if you are using NT/2K/XP you should be able to restrict use of AIM to your logon only.

Try finding the AIM directories, both of them. From there delete their folders. That should work, i think.

AIM saves screen names but it should also save the buddy list after you delete screen names. maybe you have to have a clean sign off in order for it to save? i know my buddy list saves when i delete screen names.

He's right. Find the folders, delete them, and the name in the logon dropdown list will disappear. Your buddy list is saved on the AIM servers, not on your HDD, so you don't have to worry about deleting cached buddy lists either.

Or an even easier method is to:

Open up AIM -> Select SN that you want to Delete -> Press "Delete" on your Keyboard

Tada! The screen name that you just deleted will not show up in the dropdown menu. ;) Enjoy! :)

was just about to post this.

in the older older versions you could never erase the names. i guess people complained or something and they finally implemented it.

i wish they would put back the feature of setting your font to your font and when you talk to anyone else the font would be yours and only yours. oh well i can dream cant i.

lol, so the delete key works

What I did was the registry trick. Hmm why do I expect everything to be hard as hell.
