I have a Microsoft wireless desktop 3000, which has a single USB connector for the wireless receiver. How can I connect it to a KVM switch which takes separate PS/2 inputs for keyboard and mouse?

That's backwards blak000, he needs female USB, 2 male PS/2. However they don't make it. Also you can't just get one of those little dongly things to go from USB->PS/2 the hardware would need to support it and the MS thingy does not. You'll need to replace your KVM with a USB compatible KVM if you really want to use that KB/mouse.
