I can't access 61.140.76.213 from IE. So I tried to use "tracert 61.140.76.213 "in windows 2000 directly from my computer, I got the following:
............
14 * * * Request timed out.
...........
30 * * * Request timed out.
But if I log on another computer using telnet(This computer is not in the Local Network), then I can successfully trace route to "61.140.76.213".
Does anyone know if it is possible to access this website directly from my computer? If so, how to do it?
Thanks a lot!

Is your web server in the DMZ?

You may want to give your internal network access to the DMZ, because the DMZ don't give you automatic access from behind the firewall since DMZ is not consider as you local LAN.

Check the Masquerade rule for your DMZ on your firewall/router.

Or routing table if you are using Proxy ARP.

I don't know if my webserver is in DMZ. I am living a college dorm and it has cable to access to internet. A few months ago, I can access
61.140.76.213 through IE. But now I can't. What could happen?

I do use one router to build a home network in order to share the internet access, but even I unplug the router, I still can't access this
address. Any other suggestions?

you have to call the dorm tech to inquire regarding this problem, because it could be their router/firewall that is preventing you from accessing that site?or it could be that site is preventing you from access it.

your school may have blocked access to port 80 from outside their network. this way students can't host websites, well at least not on port 80.
