*edit, ya that title should read "quiet". Dont think i can edit that out.

I have a power rack...and when i do shrugs or rack pulls, i would like for it not to clang so loud. When i miss a bench rep and slide the bar up to get out, i would like for the bar and pipes to not scratch each other.

I was wondering if anyone had a nifty trick of the trade to perform these two functions. I got some tennis racket 'tape', but it isnt going to last worht a crap. I cant think of anythign else that gets wrapped like that.

Go to edit post, then click to go advanced, and you can change the thread title there.

If your safety rails are the problem, and they are round, you could try foam pipe insulation.

If your hooks are the problem, I'd try electrical tape.

It sounds like you are talking about safety pins. You could take them to shop and have them apply some kind of powder coat, but that may not be worth the money. You also try that plasti dip product that is meant for use on tool handles.

Yes im talking about the safety pins...more specifically, the pipe that surrounds them. Its a pin & pipe situation. Both the bar and the pipe are powdercoated black (its the rogue R-3 rack & rogue power bar).

The hooks are great, they have a plastic lining that is perfect.

The "clang" is the coolest sound when getting done with a set of squats or bench press or something. You gotta really throw that bar into the rack to make people know you mean business!
