Yikes. Your story about the fall is totally worse that when I went boarding last year and the slopes were really icy... Well, to make a long story short, on my first run down the hill, my board went on the ice and somehow got caught under some ice and I fell... smack on my lower back after doing a mini-flip onto the ice. After the day was over, I had a nice black bruise on both knees, and my neck and back were really sore. Ugh... but the pain's worth it, IMHO ;)

As for you and your girlfriend going, definately go. Just *don't go fast* ... That's how I got beat up really badly. Falling over while moving slowly doesn't hurt at all. Falling over while doing 20+mph hurts like a b|tch.

However, this morning, I am actually able to move! I am not crippled for life! My muscles are really sore all over, but I don't have any bruising really, just lots of sore, sore hurting muscles. And a *really* hurting tailbone [slammed that baby into ground too many times.]

My opinion? I'd go again, if I didn't hurt like hell. I'd also make a promise to myself to not go fast.

my trip cost me ...
$86 - 2 lift tickets
$52 - rentals [RIP OFF]
$30 - Snow Pants / Gloves
$15 - Lunch
$ 4 - Hot Cocoa
$28 - Gas
------
$215

Wow, $215 for one day of fun. That, I'm sure could be slimmed down by getting cheaper rentals, having pants already, packing a lunch, and getting a more fuel-efficient car.

Well sounds like a 1st day of any snowboarder except I don't know that crash sounds pretty bad.

$86 for two tickets??? Man colorado is expensive. Most tickets where I live are $20-$25 each.

Yea, the crashes weren't too fun, as for the prices though, that's the mid-to-low end. Here in Colorado, you can ski for $85 a ticket [ack!]. The *cheapest* place I found was a tuesday-wednesday-thursday special -- a one day lift ticket that cost $32. It was for certain dates, though ...

I think I'll try skiing out time 'round

<< After the trip, I went and soaked in my g/f's hot tub for 1/2 hour. That felt good. Then we gave each other masages, which was even better. (wink wink) >>

Could you go into more detail about that? ;) :D
