how to shut laptop boot up beep sound

everytime i turn on my laptop i get first beep during boot up and then second during pcmcia card boot up.
does anyone know how to disable it.
P.S. it is not in the bios, i checked

Have you checked your manual? Usually, on a laptop, there are additional function keys. Usually the 'FN' key is pressed in addition to one of the 'PF' keys to perform certain functions. On the one I had, one of the functions allowed me to switch between the display on the screen, output only to an external monitor or both. If you could find your manual, there's probably a function like this in which you could disable the sounds.
