How to shrink t-shirts?

My big red work t-shirt which I just got last night is way too big. I usally wear a Small or Medium. All they had were Extra-Large, so I am in need of figuring out the best way to shrink them. When I shrink t-shirts, it's usually on accident, and they usually shorten up, but stay wide. I also have a big 'ol thermal t-shirt that I want to shrink. 100% cotton across the board. Give me some tips...

Seriously, though, this is the correct answer. Not so much the hot water as the high heat in the dryer. But you'll reach max shrinkage in 2-3 wash/dry cycles. I doubt you'll get an XL shirt down to a medium or small, though. Most likely you'll get it down to a large.

Unless, of course, it's like those cheap event t-shirts you buy on vacation. If it's one of those, it will fit a barbie doll after the first wash and dry.

I agree. Everything these days is huge. In most American-owned designers I wear a size small and I'm 6', 160lbs!
