i am getting a new mobo that supports SATA raid....

i plan on reformatting my hard drive and getting a new hard drive as well (same exact one) to set up raid...

how do i go about doing this? i've never done this before and have never asked so any help would be appreciated.

the board i'm using comes with SATA RAID... abit nf7-s

or should i get a RAID card and just do standard IDE raid?

thanks!

If you've done regular IDE RAID it's essentially the same...hook up both the SATA Drives (or IDE adapters) set @ Master and boot-up with the SATA intact within the BIOS (default)...Boot as 2ndary device after your installation disk(Floppy or CD for XP) and then when you boot up press the F4 or CTRL+S keys to set up the RAID you want then reboot...If you are installing XP it will ask if you want to install 3rd party drivers(ie SCSI) and hit the appropriate key then continue to install

hmm... your reply was kind of confusing.. i've never set up raid before so... yeah....

so you install the o/s first then do raid is this correct?
