How to separately control two tv's of the same brand?

I have two Samsung tv's, and I'd like to control them separately with the same remote if possible. I have an LN52A650, an LNS3251d, and a Logitech Harmony One universal remote control. Is there a way to set one of the tv's to respond to a different set of IR commands? I really hope that there's a way so make it so that both tv's do not turn on and do the exact same commands whenever I press a button on the remote.

Thanks for any info anyone can provide!

I was running into a similar problem with two Onkyo receivers, but lucky for me the Onkyo sets had three sets of selectable remote codes for them. Normally you'd need to set this up in the menu of the receiver as well as hit a special button combination on the provided remote control. Once I get around to programming my harmony, I'll use the learning function with the remote set to the non-factory setting codes and hopefully it will work out fine.

I don't know if this is a feature your TV would have though. I hope it does for your sake.

It's doubtful that they use the same IR codes, so it shouldn't be a problem. Just program them as two devices in the Harmony software and assign them to different activities.

Does each of the TV remotes control both TVs? If not, then they use different codes, and you'll have no problems with this.

They do use the same codes as I already have them set up next to each other, and it's really annoying because when I press the power button they both turn on at the same time. Occasionally only one of them will turn on and when I try to turn the other one, the other one turns off. Really annoying because the only way to fix this is by manually pressing the power button on the tv. The IR codes for every button command are the same as I can use the two Samsung remotes interchangeably to control either.

Searching through the menu's I haven't found an option to change what IR codes they use. I email Samsung about it, and they told me I had to call in to get this question answered. Guess I'll try calling them after work today. I've found a couple people asking the same question on the internet with no answer so looks like it's not possible.

I stand corrected. I looked in both owner's manuals and found nothing referring to ir code or remote code. You might be SOL.

From this link I found the following expensive and involved solution:

If you want to use 2 identical TV's, this will become a very advanced project. First, you will need some type of remote translator like the Ocelot. Configure your remote for 2 different TV brands so the remote signals are different. Program your Ocelot so that the remote signals from TV1 are translated to the appropriate codes and sent to the appropriate zone. Same for TV2. The Ocelot will output TV1 to a zone 1 IR emitter which is placed over one TV's IR target. The Ocelot will output TV2 to zone 2 IR emitter which is placed over the other TV's IR target.
