My health network was hacked and they (Interlock) posted patient data online. How do I see if my info is included? Will someone repost it on the normal web?
I have a VPN.
I have TOR browser.
I have Tails on a thumb drive, but I haven't tried to connect with it.
When I go online with a VPN and TOR, all I see are .com sites. No .onion sites

Not sure exactly. Probably depends on how good the data is. If the data's good, it'll probably stay in private "commerce" sites. If it's routine bullshit, you might find lists on general "hacking" forums. To search for onion sites, you need an onion search engine. Here's a couple. I make no claims on quality, and you can run into some dark corners, so beware...

On the clear web, try poking around some torrent trackers to see if it shows up.

Gotta find a site that posts the data dumps. Health clinic network I go to got hit a few years ago. Someone gained remote access to an on site PC, gathered up files from shared drives and d/led it all. They zipped it up and posted it on the dark web.

There was a site that had a listing of hacks that occurred along with links to the files gathered. I had found the files and actually found my info in an excel spreadsheet of patient data an employee had exported from their EMR system. Had my SSN in it.

Unfortunately I don't remember the site name.

I guess you'd have to try to find the type of sites they post this sort of thing on and search the name of the network. You can probably search on it on the clear web as you might still find references to it like someone on a forum saying they know someone who found it and they might say where, like specific onion site or what not.

I'm kind of glad I'm not in healthcare IT anymore, our network was such a disaster security wise and it felt like such a huge liability on my shoulders. I would often make recommendations to make it more secure but being in my early 20's and being the Jr. guy at the time I just got ignored. They got ransomware attacked a few years after I left. Dodged a bullet there!

I thought the dark web was just websites that weren't available to search engines? I figured the name came about because "unlisted web" didn't sound very sinister.

Capital One's "CreditWise" has a dark web monitoring feature. Maybe one of your banks has a similar feature.

I consider that mostly a BS scare tactic, to get you to buy more "protection" or something.

You could try https://haveibeenpwned.com/ for your basic personal info. Specific health data, I doubt there's a way to check.
