Eliminate everything from the menu other than the Big Mac that isn't on the dollar menu.

Use touchscreen menus, reduce kitchen staffing by 50%, increase drive thru capacity.

Murica has finally outgrown it's taste for their garbage.

The thing is that their menu is huge and it's kind of expensive for what it is. You'll spend about as much there as you would at a place like Five Guys or Hardee's/Carl Jr's, but the food is terrible. Not that long ago I had a chicken sandwich from there and it seemed like it was real chicken breast but it still had that processed meat taste for some reason and I ended up throwing it away.

They're tying to compete with higher end fast food chains by making artisan chicken sandwiches and iced coffee (which sucks too) and it's not working. And that's because people don't go to McDonald's for that sort of thing. People go there because it's quick, cheap, and some of the food tastes alright.

While I hate Mcdonalds, I wouldn't agree with that. I think they just expanded too much. There are literally 3 within walking distance of my house. And less than a 10 minute drive you can find about a dozen. In that same 10 minute drive there are more McDonalds than gas stations, that's just retarded imho. There are 2 Walmarts with them in my area, and both have another McDonalds outside in the same shopping center.

First off the "dollar menus" at FF places have been shrinking quite a bit and mostly now it's the "value" menu as prices are above $1. As for touch-screen menu's yea, that would be great for those used to using all the gadgetry in today's world but now you get an elderly person in line, he/she has issues and with the minimal staff there would be no one to help her out. Then you have people who want their product without mustard, extra mayo, ect. and now it's taking longer. Also some people HATE drive-thru's, ( I am one) and see them as a waste of gas and time, I park and walk in and 9/10 times I get my food faster then those waiting in their cars plus I can much easier check the order to make sure it's correct right there rather than when I get home and find my fries missing. There actually was a place in the early '90's near where I was working called "Central park" that had 2 drive-thru's only and they sold a 1/4lb cheeseburger/fries/drink for $2.99. You could up it to a double-patty for $1 more, that's all they sold and the place was usually packed, they are gone now, I don't know what happened or why it closed.

Well alot of the places have been using touchscreen menus for quite a while now and they seem to be doing just fine. If the menu were reduced in size and limited to mostly dollar/value menu items, it could also be kept really simple.

And if some old fart is too dumb to use that...... Well adapt or starve to death is what I say lol.

McDonald's needs to become more premium (something like Chipotle). It seems like they're incrementally moving in that direction.

I just saw a new burger at the local store, called the sirloin 1/3 pounder. It's like they slightly modded the angus and brought it back. It actually wasn't bad, but overall McDonald's just seems a little tired right now.

I just tried them last night, I loved them, They are like the old blueberry ones on the outside. I liked the old ones also, but these I liked even more.

I've had a couple of those. I think I still prefer B.K., because they're cheaper. Two big sandwiches for $5, every day. Sounds like a deal in my book.

Good god no, we don't need another overpriced bad tasting food chain like Chipotle.

Yeah, the food is really the worst you can buy. The only people who like McDonald's are the ones who don't know the difference because they grew up with it.

I usually walk in, grab some ketchup and relish packets. It's free and its a meal. Can't get cheaper than that. And each packet is a vegetable.

This is pretty much correct. This is obviously an oversimplification, but McD's is shitty food for shitty people. You can't eat that cheaply, it's not good for you, the service sucks, and the food is not good even by the low standards of fast food. There is no reason to go to one that doesn't boil down to marketing or the force of habit.

That said, in my shitty little home town of 13k people McDonald's is considered fine dining and the owner probably has a McDuck vault that he swims in occasionally. The franchise may be trending down, but they are not going anywhere any time soon. Maybe if we're lucky in 20 years they'll go the way of Radioshack, but I think any more dire predictions are just doomsaying.

I'm no fan of McDs and it's my least preferred fast food place. But I don't believe they have the worst quality food.

I hit McDs maybe 4 times a year, and always notice the crappy service. How can the Arby's right down the street have so much better service when they are hiring from the same pool of people? Around here Arby's employees are second only to Chick-Fil-A and they are in a class by themselves.

There needs to be more variety in fast food. McDonald's is competing against Burger King against Wendy's etc, but all for the same crap. Burgers and chicken nuggets. There needs to be more out there
