How to RMA an OEM TravelStar Hard Drive?

The drive in question is a IBM Travelstar which was sold to OEM company (HP) and then to me.

I check thed Manufactured date as it is March 00. The company i purchased it from says I have to go thru IBM but when i check the status of the warranty is says

"Country and hard disk drive information entry > OEM serial number

The serial number you have provided was sold to an Original Equipment
Manufacturer (OEM) and is not eligible to be returned directly to IBM. You must go
back to your point of purchase to obtain warranty support. "

Right . . . your RMA in this case would come from H-P, They are the "OEM."

You need to RMA that to HP. I would hurry in case you are up against a 1 year warranty.

i just rma'd my travelstar 10gb to hp and they gave me a 10gb hitachi, which it WAY better than a POS IBM
