How to rip SVCD MPG files from .BIN image files?

Hi,
I have a few ISO image files in .bin format, and I tried ripping the AVSEQ01.MPG files using WinISO, and tried playing them with ZoomPlayer and WinDVD, but neither worked. If I burn them into a CD-R though it works, but I don't want to waste CD-Rs if I can just rip them onto my HDD and watch the files. How can I do that? Thanks!

I have copied the avseqxx.dat files and played off them using windvd, but you do have some other options.

You could simply mount the bin using daemon tools and play it that way, or use VCDGear and choose dat > mpg.

Are yours SVCD or regular VCDs? It seems regular VCDs work, or at least, they used to work. Could it be something to do with the BIN files?

mpeg2 files are harder to work with and rip, looks like vcdgear won't work. Your best bet would be to get something that will just mount the bin as a virtual drive and play that way.

Here's something weird though. If I use WinISO to open the .bin file and extract the avseqxx.mpg files, and try to play them, they won't work. If I burn them on a CD-R and then copy the avseqxx.mpg files, and try to play them, they work, so if it something to do with the ISO image? Or does WinISO just suck?

Might just simply be the way it rips the file. I just either mount and watch, or burn and watch my (s)vcds. Once in awhile I will convert a svcd to vcd (thats a pain however.)
Easy enough to mount them, I know alcohol 120% and daemon tools will do it, not sure of the other virtual drive programs and their limitations.

Hmmn, I've heard of alcohol 120% and daemon tools, not exactly sure what they do though. What exactly does "mounting" mean?

it assigns a virtual drive to your cd image, for example daemon tools:
using the icon in the tray, right click it and go to virtual cd/dvd-rom, then set number of devices (0-4)

Then when you go back to the same menu, you'll see the drive listed, for example Device 0: [L:] No Media

then you just choose to mount the image and it'll pop up a dialog box so you can select where your cd image is.

It might be a problem with the way that winISO is extracting the data. If you use isobuster, there is an option to "extract but filter only MPG2 frames" or something like that.
