How to rip/copy password protected website?

Hi - how does one rip a password protected website? It's the kind of password that you enter in a message box that pops up. I always use winhttrack to rip websites - but it doesn't seem to have an option to enter the password. Thanks for your help!

I don't know how or if it is possible. Wouldn't be much point in having a pay-site then.

Try UltraWebSucker, you can put U/P in the site config area.

question: if you have a legit user acct and password for a site (access to all the content), is it ok to use the program to rip it all? i dont see why not. i think that is what the op is asking (more of a how do i set up the program to do this, not a help me crack this website).

there should be settings for the program for pw required sites. ihavent used the prog in ages so i cant say of the top of my head. and if you are indeed trying to break into the sites, i am of no help (and you are barking up the wrong tree)

His question had nothing to do with hacking, nor did it involve any type of ripping someone off. He asked if there was a website-sucker that handled HTTP authentication (more or less).

argh - yall misunderstood me - I already have an account. Thus I already have a valid user name and password. Anyways - I figured it out on my own - I replaced the www in the url with usernameassword@. Worked like a charm!

edit: obviously replacing the username and password with the real usernames and passwords...

Chances are its against the TOS for the site that you legitimately paid money for, that is, if it has any sort of TOS.
