How to reuse stock amd coolers

I have an AMD Cpu that i want to use but want to swtich motherboards. I noticed that these coolers use thermal tape. Would i have to buy some AS thermal compound in order to reuse the cooler? Would i have to take of the tape then clean it with some isopropyl alcohol or would i just be able to take off the cooler, and then stick it back on when i've placed the cpu onto another motherboard?

i'm assuming the CPU's are the same socket type?
if so...

Clean off the heatsink with the highest % of isopropyl alcohol you can find then apply some thermal paste (Arctic Silver 5 preferably)
