Hi.
I asked this question as part of another post, but the suggestions didn't work.
Here are the suggestions people were kind unough to give:
Slikkster:
Click Start > Run, and type the following command in the Open box:
regsvr32.exe /i shdocvw.dll - If you have Internet Explorer 4 installed
regsvr32.exe /i shdoc401.dll - If you have Internet Explorer 5 installed (and press Enter).

Mooncalf:
To enable thumbnail view from within Windows Explorer under View choose As Web Page. Then right click on a folder and choose properties and check enable thumbnail view and apply

Unfortunately, there is no thumbnail view option when I click on properties in my Windows 98 system.

The first suggestion didn't work although it said that it was successful. Any other ideas? I have alot of .jpg images that I need to recatagorize and it will be exhaustive if I have to open each one before I can move it. Thanks everyone

There's a small program you can download called TweakUI. Do a web search for it, or you may be able to find it on Microsoft's site. It is pretty useful, and gives you a bunch of Windows Explorer options, including the ability to view the thumbnailed pics in explorer windows. That should do the trick. Good Luck!

While this doesn't exactly fix your problem, you could use a graphics file viewer like ACDSee to view images as you are sorting/categorizing them. It's available at most shareware sites.

If you right click on a folder, there is a check box that says "enable thumbnail view" under properties.

This happens when the application designated to open the particular file type somehow loses it's ability to generate thumbnails.

If reinitialising regsvr32.exe doesn't work (and it does sometimes depending on the cause of the problem), then use the fix detailed in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article Q195572

I've had to use this several times in Windows98 and it has always worked. You'll need to apply the registry change for each affected graphics type.
