How would one go about accessing their e-mail from a profile that has become corrupt in Windows 2000 Pro.

Was c:\documents and settings\administrator\

But, something happened with a power outage and now is:

c:\documents and settings\administrator.bak\

But, when you login as administrator, it is like a new install of Windows - default desktop, and the admin profile resides in:

c:\documents and settings\administrator\ (which contains nothing but default stuff, none of the old documents, etc.)

So, any idea how one would go about setting up Outlook Express back to the way it was, or ideally the whole profile?

Thank you!

Have you tried copying and overwriting the contents of the Administrator folders with the Administrator.bak folder?

The OE files are located in Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{long string}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\.

You can try changing the settings in Outlook to look there for it's files or try importing messages from that location.
