How to restart after failed OC

hey all...

lately when I OC my rig... and lets say I try a bit too much or whatnot... on the good times the system begins to boot and then at some point crashes. However most often now I get a failed post. Once I get that nothing I do revives the system. I try to unplug it and reset the PS... I wait minutes... i pull out RAM. Is there an easier way other than getting to my obscure BIOS clear jumper on my board that takes me so long to get at?

Some boards will post with default settings when you hold down "F1" when booting. I think it's F1, i could be wrong.

I haven't heard of F1 being used for this, but Insert is. Some boards will also reset to defaults automatically after a failed boot and others have a little button on the motherboard itself to reset the CMOS, but it doesn't sound like any of those apply to you.

If that is really the case and you're having to clear the CMOS to even get the computer to start, your overclocking methods are somewhat... lacking. Try reading a guide of some sort, and yes the easiest way to properly reset when the system will not post is to reset the CMOS.
