With every version of Apple, there are some issues. With iOS 12.1.2, the new features have some glitches and quite a number of users are having problem, especially with message and carplays. After updating to the latest version, it simply doesn’t work on their mobile phones.
Original cables which usually come with your iPhone usually works fine; however, the duplicates you purchase later probably have some issues. In the first place, you need to ensure whether you are using a reputed cable. Using the right cables probably can fix the CarPlay issue. If you have unnecessary connection hanging around, get rid of them. There is also another way to resolve this issue.
Step 1
Go to ‘Settings’
Choose the ‘General’ tab and go to ‘CarPlay’. Sometimes, vehicles which are hooked onto your phone settings can also cause issues. So, if there is any, swap on the vehicle listed in the CarPlay and tap ‘Forget’ to get rid of it.
Step 2
You can also remove the existing vehicle connection through forget device option and try doing it again to fix the issue.
Step 3
If your issue still persists, enable ‘Siri’. The CarPlay generally works based on voice commands. To enable ‘Siri’, open the ‘Settings’. This will show the list of features available. Scroll down to ‘Siri & Search’.
Step 4
Make sure that Listen for ‘Hey Siri’, Press ‘Home’ for Siri, 'Allow Siri When Locked' are turned on.
Turning on these features will definitely fix your CarPlay issue.
