lol I thought of that myself. One of them is from Iraq and has told me that if Iraq and the US goto war, he will have to goto Iraq to fight if Saddam calls them to fight (not all muslims, just his type which I forget which one it is). The others are from India but the "hot tip" could still work

So he told you "If there is a war he will 'HAVE TO' go back and fight for saddam...". Lot of countries have mandatory military service and may be that is what he meant by "HAVE TO". There is a big difference between 'HAVE TO' and 'WANTS TO'. At the end of his student visa he will have to go back to Iraq and if Saddam is still around he might get in a lot of trouble for not showing up to fight the war.

I still think going to INS just because your GF can't handle her roommates is rather stupid

. I will surprised if INS did anything at all cause here in Boston every single grad student I know works more than 20 hours and yes their school knows it and has no problems. I still hope that INS will not waste my tax money to help you "Stand up" for your GF.

There is a serious lack of security in this country. I agree that that is a wonderful thing, in most cases. However, when a foreign national declares that he will fight in a war, on the opposing side, if the U.S. goes to war with Iraq, then he needs to be brought to the attention of the proper authorities. This country will never be like pre-9/11 again. Report the foreign national. He needs to learn (probably the hard way) that it isn't possible to screw this country any longer.

That's the thing though. He didn't say he "will" fight did he? He said he will "have to" fight. There is a difference you know. I do understand the security concerns but I doubt helping some geek get revenge for his GF will make us all any safer. All that does is waste precious INS time and resources.

"have to" and "will" are the same thing in my book. Dabuddha said this guy wasn't an Iraqi. Therefore, he doesn't "have to" fight the United States. Therefore, his "have to" statement turns into an "I want to" and "I will" statement.

I guess it that he is indeed from Iraq and either way Dabuddha will be considered biased source because of on going problems between those people and his GF. The fact that he wants to report the other two for work over 20 hrs is more than enough to doubt rest of his claims.

well the deal is he is a shiite muslim. And the majority of Iraqis are Shiite. Therefore, he said if Saddam ever calls them up to war, he would have to go and fight. It's just like a jihad but not the same thing. And Zombie you really have no clue what you're talking about. What do you know about INS? If a law is being broken, it is being broken. How simpler do I have to put it for you. Granted, these are 2 different situations. Like I said, i pity your SO because you obviously wouldn't stand up for him/her. I, on the otherhand, will not tolerate any type of abuse towards my fiance. As for the guy, I've told you what he said. It is not up to you to decide whether he should be investigated or not because you do not have the knowledge nor the means to make any such determination. If the FBI thinks it's serious, they will look into it. If not, then its their choice. Now go back to your sandbox

Either way, why bring it up in a confrontational situation? Sounds like a threat to me simply because of the circumstances.

Reporting your GF roommates for insignificant errors does not count as standing up. If you were standing up for her you would have encouraged her to talk it over with her roommates or talk to them for her. Hell if you were the MAN you claim to be you would have got back $103 that you had to pay for towing. Calling INS to do your dirty work can hardly count as "standing up".

I guess I can probably agree to some sort of action against that one individual but screwing over other two because of some arguments over groceries is just plain childish.

How do you know that I haven't tried all those tactics already. You're trying to rant without even having all the information. At least ask before you make yourself sound like an idiot. Yes I've tried talking to these people. I've tried to reason with them. I've asked them point blank why they're like the way they are. Of course they deny everything and even said it's my fiance's fault. I remember one time my fiance called me crying because her roommates were in the kitchen with the idiot guy all eating pizza and having fun and they never bothered to ask her if she wants to eat or if she wants to join them. On top of that, they're making jokes about her and she can hear them from her bedroom. Here's another one. They're keeping her mail from her and telling her they will not give it to her. I believe that is a federal offense. How about them getting a ride from a friend to their classes when theres 2 feet of snow outside and not even offering her a ride. I know you're not a really bright person so I'll try to simplify it for you. They showed absolutely no consideration to her so I will not show any consideration for them at all. Hopefully you can understand that but sadly I doubt it. And I will be getting the $103 back from the apt complex, either from them or their corporate office. Again, I pity your SO if they have someone like you to "stand up" for them. Next time ask before you make such moronic assumptions

I agree, there are better ways to solve that problem. The Iraqi comment, though, needs to be addressed.

.

Ok kid, I can see you don't have the ability to read nor comprehend things. I'll say it one last time. They are breaking the law. Do you even understand that? I'll repeat it and bold it for you 🙂 They are breaking the law Maybe someday when you grow up, you'll realize what I'm talking about.

INS has a hotline for anonymous information. Call them. If they are in violation of their visas, then INS will find out. Simple. Not a nice thing to do, but then again, I take a hardline stance on immigration. Trust me, I have first hand knowledge of immigration with 3 different countries (including the US).

Don't take a trip to FBI headquarters, you won't even get in. Unless you want the tour (which is really cool!). You will need to call a field office.

On another note, what visa is you're fiance on? This could be a real nightmare, particularly if she is on a J-1 visa. Trust me, my wife was a J-1 and we are finally gave up screwing around with it, and now we live in Canada. (We lived in Australia for 4 years) PM me if you want more info. I've got a couple years of research on this. The forms are nothing compared to the nightmare a two-year home residency requirement will give you.

I could get in with my work ID actually but I prolly won't have time. My fiance is on a Student Visa (not sure which one that is) Were you a US citizen? I currently am.

Find out which visa she has. A J-1 means (99% of the time) that she must return to her original country (or the one she had permanent residence in when she got the student visa to come to the US) for a period of not less than 2 years before returning to the US. Marriage to a US citizen and other "loopholes" do not apply here. An F-1 on the other hand, is a more desirable option.
