How to repair a nylon shell of a jacket?

Winter is coming and it's almost time to bring out the heavy duty jacket. However, there's a one inch tear on the outside shell of my North Face down jacket. The shell is made of nylon. Anyone know of any kits made to repair this sort of tear?

Outdoors equipement store (like REI), they have this nylon tape thing. It's like using duct tape but looks nicer🙂 I had a Northface shell I fixed and it lasted a couple of years.

Seam Seal and Kenyon Tape will do the trick. Rounding off the corners of the kenyon tape helps to keep it from peeling up. just stick the tape over the cut and then rub seam sealer around the edges of the tape. hope this helps
