Is it silver paste?

I don't want to know GL.

Rip it all apart and try to clean everything in sight with alcohol, about all I can recommend myself.

Maybe get a spray bottle, and fill it with isopropyl alcohol 94%. Alternate spraying and wiping, with some paper tower or better yet, coffee filters (because they are lint-free).

Chances are the RAM errors, are because the AS got into the contact area where the RAM plugs in. That might be a bit tougher to remove.

They have stuff to clean that off with.
The professionals use this:
flux.jpg

I use that to remove DUST,FLUX,dirt, insect legs, rust, crud and whatever from electronics.

To get more info type in "FLUX OFF" in youtube to get highly detailed info about it.

It also removes ionic and non ionic based material type dirt and works great to clean small tight fitting electronics such as the the pins and such on IC chips and SMT boards.

THe poor mans version of flux off would come clearly as good but it would be rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle followed up by a spray bottle of gasoline.

So yeah use flux off with windows open in a moving air environment so you do not pass out. Co workers tel me the smell is not that bad.

What about soaking in rubbing alcohol and before removing it, swishing around followed by cotton swabs once more?

It could work but would take a long time for it to work.

Fux can break it up no matter the temp but .... its worth a try.

Just do not smoke around all that ether.
