Scrape off the most part of it with something like a plastic spoon (so as not to scratch up your pretty new HSF). Once you get most of it off, put some WD-40 on a cloth and scrub. It will come right off. Then take some rubbing alcohol and take off the WD-40. Now you should no thermal pad
JimMc is %100 correct! If you can find "Goof Off" it will take it right off! Thats what I used too. I wouldnt advise using it on the CPU core itself.
