How to remove rust from cookware??

I have an ice cream maker with a metal can thingy. Somehow, part of it got a few small rust spots on the inside. Are there any home-remedies for removing this stuff without having to buy some special cleaner? I wanna try to use it tomorrow....I doubt the rust will cause any probs cause I've washed it, but I don't want to get lockjaw from my vanilla swirl. 😛
 
Huh? Just scrub it off with a green scrub pad, or if you're feeling thorough, some steel wool.. You'll be fine.
