I am familliar with msconfig for unchecking programs that start-up when you begin windows. But how do i completely remove them if they dont offer a removal method. I am using WIN98SE. I dont want to remove the program but just dont want it running in the back ground.

Thanks in advance.

Go to the run box in the start menu and type msconfig. In the windows that pops up go to the startup menu and remove the programs you don't want to start.
Scope!

Note this system configuration utility is not available in Win ME. When they dumb things down they really do dumb things. 😱

Well dog-on-it I read in a Win ME review they took it out. Of course I can't find the site to prove it. Thanks for the correction. I'm glad that utility is included as I've used it quite a bit in Win 98SE.
