I ran a port scanner in my XP system and it found that on port 1024 there is this NetSpy in listen mode, so I scanned my system with NAV 2002 and nothing. Any ideas ?

When is the last time you updated your virus definition list? My NAV 2001, updated last week, lists Netspy in the def. list.

Try going to Trends House Call. It is a free online scanner that may be able to remove the program. I could not find manual removal instructions.

A port scanner looks at a computer to see what ports are "open". Some can identify the program that is using that port. Do a search for port scanners, download.com may have some freeware/shareware scanners.

I use What's Up Gold as a port scanner. It's very handy and easy to use.
A word of warning. Port scanning, while not illegal, is considered to be very rude and may be against your ISP's rules. I would advise only scanning on networks you have permission to scan on, i.e. your own.

Thanks, I scanned my system with Trend House and it didn't find anything. So I'm still looking.

Check this out -- It looks like it's a manual fix. It involves a registry edit - SO BE VERY CAREFUL. According to this write-up, there is no automated fix, so this is it... And it also looks like you've had it for awhile if this article's right...

Thanks Ozee, that is the weird thing, it shows that is in my XP pc, and today I ran the port scanner again and is clean like my wallet, I have only the ports that needs to be open. I even follow the instructions and i don't have anything like that in ANY of my pcs in my LAN.
Thanks again to everyone for the help.

Best regards
