Last week, some weird formatting marks appeared in Word 2002. They appear to be some sort of border or text limit mark, and I can't get rid of them. They appear in each corner and are dashed lines. They are placed as seen below.

I can't find the option anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

This is for Word 2003, it may not be the same for 2002.
Tools --> Options --> View tab --> Print and Web Layout Options section --> Text Boundaries check box

Well under windows 2000 the setting is found in T00LS-->OPTIONS-->VIEW (TAB) There should be a check box for TEXT BOUNDARIES. The mark will only show up if your view mode is set to PRINT LAYOUT as opposed to NORMAL.

EDIT: Being late is what i get for setting up a batch of mp3 conversions in the middle of replying

That's not quite it. There are no dashed lines bordering the text, the lines are just in the corners. I tried toggling this option on my laptop (the problem is on my desktop) and on the laptop, this options turns on both a dotted line border as well as these strange corner marks. However, toggling this option on my desktop only toggles the dotted border, not the corner marks.

Based on a quick google search:

Go under Tools > Options > View > Print and Web Layout options > Text boundaries and make sure the option is unchecked.

If the crop marks are still there, you likely have Asian language support enabled. Go to Start / Programs / Microsoft Office Tools / Microsoft Office XP Language Settings and remove the asian languages.

I just noticed that someone had responded to this thread. I removed all the Asian fonts and it did the trick. Thanks so much MrChad!
