I have two network printers i need to remove from my Printers in Vista. Neither are on the network I am currently on and the computer they were connected via no longer is available, so they will effectively never be on the network in that capacity again.

When i try to remove just by selecting delete, it throws an error: "Printer cannot be removed. Make sure that you have typed the name correctly, and that the printer is connected to the network."

When I try as an admin, it throws another error: "Printer cannot be removed. Operation could not be completed (error 0x00000866).

Why must everything in Vista be a pain in the ass?

Never had this problem before, I've disconnected/deleted dozens of network printers. What are the printer models? Did they install through software (uninstall it) or through the wizard or through a unc path? Also, try stopping the print spooler service then deleting them.

hrm...not sure what to say, they appear to have builtin Vista drivers and if you installed through the wizard, it should be a snap. Did you try stopping the print spooler then removing them?
