HOW TO REMOVE BANNERS FROM ICQ

i remember something about substituting a .dll and changing something in the registry... i have the dll i think... can anyone help me out? the ads get really annoying... :|

try this:

run regedit and find HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mirabilis\ICQ\DefaultPrefs ; find "Auto Update" a set its status from `Yes` to `No`
- from ICQ directory (implicitly C:\Program Files\ICQ) delete files: icqateima32.dll, icqateimg32.dll, icqateres.dll
- the latest step is to replace ICQCore.dll byt modified version (4.63). http://newdata.box.sk/2001/mar/ICQCore.zip
