My general rules with bad sectors constantly forming...

Try once to see if they can be marked off... test test... and if they're still being found/new ones- RMA the drive if possible or get a replacement for about $100 or les.

Losing data costs more than $100 drive.

The best way to clean bad sector is to do a low level format. This way the operating system won't even be able to allocate them. You must use a utility provided by the manufacturer... Use the link that Bozo1 provided.

Good advice, bad sectors on a relativly new drive are signs of death.

Bad sectors can be like a disease. Most software just remaps the sectors so the hard drive avoids them. Some low level formatting may recover them. But I would say there is a significant change the problem will expand or return. I personally won't trust a hard drive with bad sectors.

I've personally had horrific experiences with Seagate drives. I would be on the phone with Seagate right away if I were in your shoes.
