How to remember my password when they're like this

I remember reading an article about a long simple password was tougher to crack than a standard length with special characters.

Ex. "xt4!erY" is easier to crack than "mydogisfatandlazy"

I guess it depends on the cracker.

Generally speaking, a good secure password should follow these guides:

* Be at least 12 characters in length
* Not utilize any words from the dictionary
* Contain at least one capital, numeral, and special character, preferably in the middle of the password
* Never use the same password twice for anything important

Commit one such password to memory as your master password. Then use a password storage program to keep the rest of them.

Ehh, I use password safe.

My "main" password that I use to lock my passwordsafe file and my desktop is 12 characters, has some special characters, as well as alpha and numeric, and contains no dictionary words. Also, I change it every 6 weeks per corporate policy.

The one flaw is when the servers get hacked, which happens quite often. Playstation, Steam accounts, Google mail...all of those got hacked and I was forced to change password despite how good it was.

"It would take a desktop PC about 2 tredecillion years to crack your password"

Hmm.
