So you know how you start working out @ gym again after months and your arms get in pain from all the workout the next day or so. Well is there anything i can take to relieve some stress in my muscles.. cuz i can barely do anything around the house. my arms are stuck like in a 90degree angle form. icy hot...? any sugg would be greatly appreciated

Ah yes. It's a wonderful and terrible feeling at the same time. What always worked for me was stretching. Even though it hurts like a son of a gun, it still gives you more mobility with the arms for awhile.

I've never been more sore than i was the first couple days of wrestling season each year in highschool. What helped me was to do a few things.

Eat bananas - high in potasium, which helps break down lactic acid
Fight through the soreness and go for a little jog or swim
Soak in the spa for 30 min - it promotes bloodflow and will hasten the lactic acid reduction
Drink LOTs of water - water is like a miracle drug, ask any fitness nut

I had that too and I created a thread about it a while back. It will go away. Mine took like three days to fully go away lol. It's a good feeling though.

Make sure you stretch your muscles before you work out and after you work out as well. You can stretch them when they are sore as well (just don't overstretch). When you are stretching and not sore you should stretch to the point where you are about to feel pain. Don't bounce when you stretch, just gently hold for about 20 seconds. Stretching prevents a lot of soreness and is very important to a work out (both warm up and cooling down).

But like everyone else said, you can stretch to relieve the pain a bit. When you do this, you are basically squeezing the lactic acid out of the muscles (which causes soreness)
