I just bought my first AMD Duron CPU and want to know exactly what I got.

Here is what is printed on my Duron's core --

AMD Duron (TM)
D800AUT1B
AKCA 0104 VPBW
Z8540140514
(M)(C)1999 AMD

How do I interpret these numbers. I remember seeing a table somewhere recently (most probably in an Anandtech article) that mentioned how to read these numbers and what each of them meant.

Does anyone remember which article it was ? I have been searching for the past 1 hour and haven't found it yet.

Okay ... found what I needed from this Duron Data Sheet, chapter 11, page 69.

Here is a quick overview for anyone else looking for this info ---

D 850 A U T 1 B
- --- - - - - -
| | | | | | |---- Max FSB: B = 200 MHz
| | | | | |------ Size of L2 Cache: 1=64Kbytes
| | | | |-------- Case Temperature: T=90ºC
| | | |---------- Operating Voltage: U = 1.6V
| | |------------ Package Type: A = PGA
| |--------------- Speed: 600 MHz, 650 MHz, 700 MHz, 750 MHz, 800 MHz, 850 MHz, etc.
|------------------ Family/Architecture: D = AMD Duron? Processor Model 3 Architecture

I would still like to find that article though ... as it had some more useful info. If anyone knows where to find it, pls let me know.

[EDIT]
Hmm ... the variable width font pretty much screwed up the above 'figure' ... is there a way to force using a fixed width font ?
