which version of windows?
if it is higher than say 95B putting it on floppys will take half a lifetime to complete..
or you could find windows 95A floppy images somewhere..

winzip everything into 1.44mb volumes. you'll probably end up with a hundred disk if you're talking about win9x. each volume would fit perfectly on a disk. copy it all to the laptop and unzip it back. set aside a weekend to accomplish this task :p

how to put windows cd on floppy disks

Get a pair of scissors
Use the scissors to cut square holes in the floppy disks -- Be neat! these are your windows
Use a black "laundry marker" to put the letters "C" "D" on the back side of your disks

Voila! Windows CD on floppy disks!

Best is net transfer if the laptop have net access, other wise check out serial cable, or unmount the hdd and install it on a desktop puter to copy the cab files over. I can remember the erlly version of Win95 was 15~17 floppy disks, Win95b or 98 could be over 20 disks.
