I have been a user of bit torrent for quite some time, until recently I got a notice of copyright infringement concerning one of my downloads. I have a netgear NT314 router and 2 desktop computers behind it, also running Peer Guardian on both, with the bit torrents ports being forwarded to my downloading computer via the router....which until 'the notice', I thought was secure enough to avoid this problem. Apparently not!
In my case, the file was a movie and I was contacted by the film company through my ISP.
Is there something I didn't do, or something I need to do to be more secure? I mean, other than abandon P2P networks alltogether? I really don't want to worry about getting another notice, but not sure what ALL my options are.
Thanks!
